Payment

We accept all credit and debit cards at our store. On-line we have decided to use Paypal, as its the most popular on-line payment processor, however we do have full credit and debit card facilities at the shop, so if you prefer not to use paypal, then please ring us on 01302 328811 and we would be happy to take your card details and process it for you.

The Guitar Shop must receive payment in full before any items are dispatched. All Product Prices, Features And Specifications Are Subject To Change Without Notice. Unless otherwise stated any prices quoted by The Guitar Shop are inclusive of UK tax and duty.
This does not include any taxes or duties when shipping to non EC countries. Please check with your countries customs office for further details.

Delivery

Please note - we are only able to deliver goods to the card holders billing address.

PLEASE NOTE: Any Order Which leaves us Via courier, the responsibility will lie solely with the courier (DHL) regarding delivery. We will inform you via Email with your tracking number once your Order has been dispatched (if provided).

Responsibility for ownership of the goods passes to purchaser once they are delivered. All items are fully insured against loss or damage whilst in transit. Damages or shortages must be notified to The Guitar Shop within 48 hours of delivery. The charge for delivery (IF ANY) will be shown at the final checkout stage before final submission.

If your postcode begins with AB / IV / KW / PA / PH / BT / HS / KA / ZE or you live in Isle of Man / ROI / Channel Islands / Isle Of Wight or Isle Of Scilly please phone for a quote before ordering, as Free delivery may not apply to these destinations.

Cancellations / Refunds

Refunds can only be made by the method originally used to pay for the goods. Credit/debit card refunds will be processed within 30 days but usually at our earliest convenience. Please note transactions usually dont show up instantly.

Warranties

New items come with a minimum 12 month warranty against manufacturer defect. Some manufacturers offer extended warranties which will be enclosed with the product. Second-hand items come with a 3 month warranty against manufacturer defect.

When an ex-demonstration (ex-demo) model is sold it may not necessarily be in perfect condition and may have had repairs, have marks, scratches and/or other defects. Customers should check the goods are of a satisfactory condition for their particular use and requirement before purchasing. You can do this by contacting us via phone or email for more information.

RETURNS POLICY

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return it in its original condition within 7 days, we will exchange it or replace it with an instrument of similar value.

Cost of returning an instrument to be born by the customer unless previously agreed with us.

Before goods are returned for replacement, an authorisation number must be obtained from our office and documentation enclosed with the goods stating:

1. The Name Of The Sender
2. The Reasons For The Return
3. The Return Authorisation Number

Failure to include the above documentation will delay processing of returns. It is advisable to obtain a proof of posting for your own cover should goods fail to reach this office.

Goods Damaged in Transit.
Please contact us to request a returns number. We will then collect and refund or replace as you wish.

All our deliveries are fully insured however if there is visible damage to your package, you must sign and note the couriers paperwork with a brief explanation of the damage discovered and inform steelcityguitars@googlemail.com (The Guitar Shop) Tel:01302 328811
Any damaged goods must be reported to us within 24 hours of receipt of goods.

Returning Goods Faulty within 28 days
Faulty items are rare as we check all items prior to dispatch however if an item we sell you is faulty, you are legally entitled to a full refund providing you report it to us within 28 days of receipt. Return the item to us intact with all packaging, manuals, accessories etc.

Faulty items returned outside of 28 days will be subject to manufacturers warranty arrangements, which may entail a repair being performed.

You may be required to contact the manufacturer directly in order to confirm there is a physical fault. This in no way affects your statutory rights and is to speed up the faulty items return process.

Returning Goods for Warranty Repair Outside 28 days
A warranty repair is offered for most faulty goods purchased for which you have had for more than 28 days.

When The Guitar Shop accepts the return of an item for repair, we will confirm the fault and send the goods back to the relevant manufacturer or distributor. Due to the logistics involved, it may take up to 4 weeks or more for an item to be received by The Guitar Shop, repaired and returned back to you.

We may ask you to talk directly to the manufacturer to speed up the repair process, but remember for warranty repair work we rely on the manufacturer and only act principally as a courier, however be assured we will do everything reasonably possible to speed up the process and keep you informed.

Incorrect goods received

If you have received an incorrect product then we will arrange for return and refund or replacement. Use our usual returns system to request a returns number and replacement or refund.

Missing items from the orders

An order may be shipped in multiple boxes and each box will have its own consignment number and packing slip.

Each Courier box has a separate consignment number. For example, an order for two amplifiers will come in two boxes with two separate consignment numbers and packing slips.

If items are physically missing from a box then please check for signs of packaging damage or tampering. Also remember that physically small items can sometimes be hidden within the internal packing.

If some parts are missing, then our normal procedure is to collect and refund the item.
However, if it is a small item, it would be better to send you the missing part, please email sales@steelcityguitars with the details of the missing item. Anything delivered with an item missing is eligible for full return at our expense within 28 days of purchase.

Distance Selling Regulations for Returns
The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (SI 2334/2000), You have a cooling off period, i.e. a right to cancel your order after receipt of goods.
This is nothing to do with the Sale of Goods Act which deals with faulty products. If your purchase is faulty, we will deal with this under our normal returns procedure.

These regulations only apply to purchases by consumers and not business purchases.

The item(s) is in stock condition i.e. as delivered with no seals broken. Consumables cannot be returned unless they are completely unopened. You inform us of your desire to cancel within seven working days of receipt of the item(s).
The goods are not made to the consumers specification or clearly personalised or which by reason of their nature cannot be returned or are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly.
The goods are not software which are unsealed.
The goods are returned within 30days of receipt, and are in a re-saleable condition and in the original packaging
You pay the return freight charges, either using our collection system or by using a method of your own choosing.

These regulations do not apply to business customers

The Distance Selling Regulations were introduced to give mail order/on-line customers the same rights they would have if they had purchased from a shop, over the counter. This does not mean that this can be interpreted as a trial purchase scheme. It should also be noted that consumers have to exercise a duty of care towards the products as no financial penalty should be incurred by a reseller accepting goods for return under this legislation.
